About the Host
Angela Benton is a multi-hyphenate entrepreneur. Business woman-Author-Producer-Cancer Survivor-Mother. She’s a storyteller at heart having produced various forms of content over the past 10 years. A pioneer, she launched BlackWeb 2.0 in 2007, a multimedia platform which filled a much-needed void by becoming a vital nexus for African-Americans interested in technology. Through NewME, the first accelerator for minorities launched in 2011, she has produced various written and video content but her most important work there has been helping hundreds of entrepreneurs craft compelling stories for their startup businesses, helping them raise over $43MM from investors. She has been honored by Goldman Sachs’ 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs, in addition to Fast Company’s Most Influential Women In Technology, Business Insiders’ 25 Most Influential African-Americans in Technology, Marie Claire’s 50 Women Who Rule, and many more.
